The Property Market Is Buzzing This Spring

Company news :   18 - 05 - 21

The local housing market has had its fair shares of up and downs over the past year due to lockdowns. However, our sales team are successfully marketing and selling a range of desirable properties and 2021 is proving to be incredibly successful.

There is also a positive picture across the rest of the UK and figures drawn from Zoopla reveal that within the first 15 weeks of this year, £149 billion worth of homes were sold. In turn, this amounted to double the value within the same period in 2019 and 2020.

Grant Walters, Director of Andrew Lodge Estate Agents commented: “When schools reopened in March, we quickly began to see a rise in property listings. As home-schooling came to an end, bringing a property to market became easier for families.”

According to official Rightmove data, Andrew Lodge Estate Agents received more new instructions in the £500,000 to £1.5 mil price bracket than any other local agent between 1st March 2021 and 18th May 2021, in the GU9 and GU10 postcodes.

There is currently an imbalance between supply and demand for many estate agents. However, the levels of buyer demand are predicted to moderate following the easement of lockdown restrictions – aiming for some ‘normality’ within the housing sector.

Alongside this, the 95% mortgage guarantee scheme will play a prominent role in bringing in more demand from first-time buyers.
