Property Market Springs Into Life

Company news :   20 - 01 - 20

Here in Farnham the housing market is springing into life after December’s election result delivered much-needed stability for home-movers.

Leading property portal Rightmove recently revealed that there has been a 2.3% surge in the price of property being listed for sale.

This is the largest monthly rise recorded at this time of year, with many signs pointing to an active spring market ahead.

Commenting on the data, Andrew Lodge said: “2020 has begun with a renewed level of optimism, highlighted by the exciting data from Rightmove.

“Uncertainty certainly slowed the housing market as people were hesitant to buy or sell. Following the election, we have received and uplift in enquiries, which suggests we are in store for a very active spring market.”

According to the Rightmove data, in the four-week period from 13th December to 9th January, immediately after the election, enquiries to estate agents were up by 12% compared to the same period a year ago. This then led to a 7.1% increase in the number of sales agreed over the same period.

If you are considering marketing your property, now is an ideal time to arrange a free valuation with our team. It is also a good opportunity to apply for a mortgage quote as there are some good fixed rate deals available.
