Our Safety Measures During Covid -19

As England adapts to new Government measures and a third national lockdown in a bid to curb rising coronavirus cases, we are doing all we can to operate as safely as possible. Protecting the NHS and saving lives is at the forefront of all our minds, therefore we are taking vital steps to ensure our team and clients are kept as safe as possible.

If you are planning to market or purchase a property,  you may be wondering – what does the current lockdown mean for the property market?

The Government has confirmed that buying and selling property can continue in a Covid-secure way, as it has in recent months. Estate agents can operate and carry out property viewings so long as robust measures are followed.

This enables our team at Andrew Lodge Estate Agents to continue marketing property and coordinating property viewings for buyers and vendors, with the safety of our staff and clients being our top priority. We are following official Government Covid-19 guidance and ensuring the best possible safety measures are in place.

We have taken steps to make our Farnham office Covid-secure, operating a ‘by appointment only’ system so that we can regulate the people in our office. We have a system to track who enters our office in case contact is required for a test and trace situation and no one should enter the premises if they are showing symptoms or have been advised to self-isolate. Please be aware, that all those who visit for an appointment will be requested to have a temperature check.

Individuals need to be mindful of travel restrictions to help prevent the risk of spreading the virus.

To assist you, we currently have a dedicated team working at a social distance in our Farnham office, with some members of staff working remotely.

Before any viewings take place we are speaking with vendors and prospective buyers to run through their needs first, to discuss property details, answer any questions, and to ensure a viewing is necessary. We will also carefully run through our viewing safety measures. We work out viewing plans to suit everyone from a safety perspective and insist that our safety measures are adhered to.

To assist you, we have outlined our measures below and these are based on the current government guidance to help you prepare for a viewing safely.

Viewing Safety Measures for Buyers

  • A member of our sales team or our vendors will meet you outside of the property, ensuring the 2 metres social distancing requirements.
  • Always maintain 2 metres social distancing during your viewing.
  • Viewers must belong to the same household.
  • Children under the age of 10 are not permitted to attend.
  • Bring your own PPE such as masks, gloves, and sanitiser with you and take all PPE away with you.
  • If you or a household member has experienced within the last 14 days or is experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or any general symptoms of being unwell, or have been in contact with anyone experiencing such symptoms within the last 14 days, you must notify us as soon as possible in advance of the viewing and the viewing will be postponed.
  • Upon entering the property, we will require you to wash your hands with soap and water or apply hand sanitiser.
  • Please do not touch anything during the viewing.
  • Following the viewing you may ask questions outside of the property or over the telephone.

Please be aware that we will request that property owners’ adhere to our ‘viewing safety measures for vendors’, but your visit to the property is at your own risk.

Should your viewing prove successful and an offer accepted, we will help you to navigate the next phase safely. Official Government guidelines about restrictions can be accessed via the link below.

Viewing Safety Measures for Vendors

  • To help minimise the number of people in your home, we may request your household to do the viewing or to leave while the viewing is taking place.
  • Have a plan of where you can go while the viewing is taking place if you need to.
  • Please clean items and/or areas that may be touched such as doorbells/handles with an antibacterial cleaner before and after the viewing has taken place.
  • Open windows to boost ventilation prior to the viewing.
  • Open internal doors, loft hatches, and anything else you think may be of interest, ahead of the viewing to minimise unnecessary contact.
  • If possible, provide hand sanitiser by your front door so that the agent and viewers can clean their hands when they enter and leave your home.
  • Following the viewing you may ask questions outside of the property or over the telephone.

Please be aware that we will request that buyers adhere to our ‘viewing safety measures for buyers’, but arranging a viewing at your property is at your own risk.
